ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the technique procedure for comprehensive facial rhytidectomy, and to evaluate the surgical outcome.Methods:A total of 126 patient received comprehensive facial rhytidectomy were involved in this study and the outcomes were evaluated by using 14 FACE-Q scales.Results:Totally 44 patients completed the FACE-Q scales, with the follow-up of 6 to 86 months, with an average of 27.9 months. The overall satisfaction was 87.30±10.79 (mean±standard deviation), satisfaction with forehead and brow was 92.16±10.12, satisfaction with cheekbones was 93.30±6.95, satisfaction with cheek was 91.20±10.17, and satisfaction with neck was 87.16±9.65; appraisal of overall lines was 87.57±9.71, appraisal of forehead lines was 91.80±10.23, appraisal of glabella lines was 90.43±10.76, appraisal of nasolabial fold was 88.25±12.10, and appraisal of crow's feet was 91.52±13.66; social function scores were 88.70±9.40, psychological function scores 88.77±10.49, surgical decision satisfaction scores 90.86±9.06, and surgical outcome satisfaction scores 90.03±10.61. Self-evaluation was 8.33±3.15 years younger. There was no statistically significant difference in the scale results between the age groups of <40 years, 40-50 years, and >50 years.Conclusions:Comprehensive facial rhytidectomy is a systematic and thorough surgical solution for rejuvenation. This procedure is proved to be of high satisfactory degree in short and long-term follow-up by FACE-Q scales.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To introduce a novel method of endoscopic forehead lift and its follow-up results.Methods:In the past 7 years, 119 patients underwent endoscopic forehead lift. The parallel incisions were made on the frontalis muscle to relieve the wrinkles of the forehead. Glabella muscles were partially bluntly bitten by minimally invasive forceps. No fixator or suture was applied during the operation. Postoperative FACE-Q scales were issued to patients, and the changes of eyebrow position before and after operation were measured.Results:One week postoperatively, glabella frown and forehead wrinkles were relieved or eliminated as the swell gone. The eyebrow measurement outcome showed that the eyebrows of the patients were definitely raised after the operation. The results of FACE-Q scales showed that patients were highly satisfied with the improvement of frontal wrinkles and glabella frown wrinkles, and with the surgical outcomes and decisions. The patients thought they were averagely 7 years younger after operation. The most common complication was temporary frontal skin numbness, followed by hairline regression.Conclusions:The endoscopic forehead lift can effectively improve the forehead wrinkles and the glabella frown wrinkles which meets the demands of Chinese patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the feasibility of preheating in 41 ℃ water bath for 30 minutes to correct the red blood cell parameters in the specimens containing high-titer cold agglutinins(CAs). Methods Two specimens containing high-titer CAs were selected during work,and the parameters of complete blood count at room temperature or after preheating in 37 ℃ or 41 ℃ water bath were compared.The smears were stained,and the distribution of red blood cells was observed with a microscope.Further,74 specimens without CAs were collected for complete blood count,and then the test results at room temperature and after preheating at 41 ℃ were compared. Results At room temperature,the specimens containing high-titer CAs showed significantly reduced red blood cell count(RBC)and hematocrit(HCT),abnormally increased mean corpuscular hemoglobin(MCH)and mean cell hemoglobin concentration(MCHC),abnormal percents of hemoglobin(HGB)and RBC,and aggregation of a large number of red blood cells.After being preheated at 37 ℃ for a certain time,the specimens demonstrated obviously improved parameters while still aggregation of a small number of red blood cells.After being preheated at 41 ℃ for 30 minutes,the specimens showed significantly increased RBC,normal HCT,MCH,and MCHC,and evenly distributed red blood cells.The 74 specimens without CAs showed the comparability was ≥80% between room temperature and preheating at 41 ℃ for 30 minutes or 60 minutes. Conclusion We can preheat the specimens containing high-titer CAs in a water bath at 41 ℃ to obtain accurate red blood cell parameters.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effect of the situational doctor-patient communication skills training course based on chest pain center.Methods:The "5+3" integrated students of clinical medicine were selected to take the doctor-patient communication skills training course. The typical cases of chest pain center were written as module units, and were divided into 3 modules according to the disease types and the training contents of doctor-patient communication. The effect evaluation was performed before the course and after each module course, including the Liverpool doctor communication skills assessment scale, the college student empathy ability scale and emotional intelligence evaluation scale.Results:The students' communication ability, empathy ability, and emotional intelligence were significantly improved by three modules of practical training courses (all P<0.05). Among them, the communication ability of medical students was improved after each lecture in module 1, module 2 and module 3 (all P<0.05), which was 84% higher than that before the course [(28.2±2.7) vs. (15.3±3.9)]. After each lecture in module 1 and module 2, the empathy ability of medical students was improved (both P<0.05), which was 34% higher than that before teaching [(132.7±12.5) vs. (99.0±17.4)]. After each lecture in module 2 and module 3, the emotional intelligence of medical students was improved by 34% [(138.5±13.0) vs. (103.0±16.6)] (both P<0.05). Conclusion:The situational doctor-patient communication skills training course based on chest pain center, as a practical course of doctor-patient communication for medical students at the undergraduate stage, can effectively improve students' doctor-patient communication ability, empathy ability and emotional intelligence.

ABSTRACT

Objective:Dorsocervical fat pad is common in middle-aged women. Current treatments include surgical excision and liposuction. We evaluated the therapeutic effect of tumescent liposuction on dorsocervical fat pad. Anatomical study was also carried out to explore the anatomical structure and significance of dorsocervical fat pad.Methods:From Jan. 2009 to Dec. 2018, twenty-seven patients with dorsocervical fat pad were treated with tumescent liposuction in Peking University Third Hospital. Small incisions were made in bilateral scapular region and 4 mm suction cannula was applied. A female cadaver fixed with formaldehyde was dissected to investigate the structure of posterior cervical and dorsal region. The specimens were stained with HE and Masson staining.Results:14 patients were followed up for no less than 6 months, with an average follow-up time of 27 months. Patients' dorsocervical area were flat and smooth after the surgery. Patient satisfaction rate was 100% and no severe complication was reported except bruise and pain. The symptoms of dorsocervical pain in two patients were significantly improved after operation. Anatomical study showed that the dorsocervical fat pad was composed of superficial and deep layer of adipose tissue, with clear boundary between the two layers and no obvious capsule. The collagen fibers in deep layer were more and denser than those in superficial layer.Conclusions:Tumescent liposuction can effectively treat dorsocervical fat pad. The surgery outcome is ideal with little complication.Through the study of the anatomical structure of the dorsocervical fat pad, the operation method and principle of liposuction can be improved and the operation efficiency can be enhanced.

Objective@#To compare the 10 years risk for ischemic cardiovascular disease among Han, Uygur, Kazak nationality residents of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.@*Methods@#From October 2007 to October 2010,14 618 adult (aged ≥35 years) Han (n=5 757),Uygur (n=4 767) and Kazak (n=4 094) residents were selected to join this study through the four-stage stratified cluster sampling method from 7 cities and regions of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The 10 years risk for ischemic cardiovascular disease was calculated according to the 10 years ischemic cardiovascular disease risk assessment form modified with Chinese characteristics and compared among the residents of 3 nationalities.@*Results@#(1) There were significant differences in age, body mass index, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,fasting blood glucose,triglycerides,total cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, smoking history, and drinking history among Han, Uygur, Kazak nationality population (all P< 0.001). (2) There were significant differences in 10 years risk for ischemic cardiovascular disease between different gender and age group including 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and ≥60 years old between Han, Uygur, Kazak nationality population (all P<0.001). (3) There were significant differences in rates of 10%-20% and>20% of 10 years risk for ischemic cardiovascular disease between different gender in Han, Uygur, Kazak nationality population (P values were 0.013 and <0.001, respectively). There were no significant differences in rates of <5% and 5%-9% of 10 years risk for ischemic cardiovascular disease between different gender in Han,Uygur,Kazak nationality population (all P>0.05).(4) There were significant differences in detection rates of diabetes,hypertension,smoking,hypertriglyceridemia,and obesity in male and female Han,Uygur,Kazak nationality population with 10 years risk for ischemic cardiovascular disease ≥10% (P<0.01 or 0.05). Meanwhile,there was significant difference in detection rates of hypercholesteremia in male Han, Uygur, Kazak nationality adults(P<0.001). There were no significant differences in detection rates of elevated low density lipoprotein cholesterol and reduced high density lipoprotein cholesterol in male and female Han,Uygur,Kazak nationality adults (all P>0.05).@*Conclusion@#There are gender and age differences in the 10 years risk for ischemic cardiovascular disease in ≥35 years old Han,Uygur,Kazak nationality adults from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Objective@#To investigate the application value of superb microvascular imaging (SMI) in the diagnosis of penile vascular ED.@*METHODS@#Seventy-two ED patients underwent SMI and color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI), all ultrasonographically diagnosed with penile vascular ED. We compared SMI and CDFI in detecting the grades of blood flow in the cavernous artery and the lengths of time needed to obtain satisfactory blood flow spectrum from the patients.@*RESULTS@#SMI mainly revealed grades Ⅲ and Ⅳ blood flow, in 43 and 20 of the 72 patients (87.5%), while CDFI chiefly manifested grades Ⅰ and Ⅱ blood flow, in 26 and 32 cases respectively (80.6%). The former showed significantly better manifestations of the penile cavernous artery than the latter. It took less time to obtain the spectrums of grades Ⅲ and Ⅳ blood flow ([1.52 ± 0.18] and [1.21 ± 0.11] min) than grades Ⅰ and Ⅱ ([5.23 ± 0.44] and [4.46 ± 0.65] min), and SIM took significantly less time than CDFI ([1.32 ± 0.42] vs [4.53 ± 0.67] min, P < 0.05).@*CONCLUSIONS@#SMI is superior to CDFI in better manifesting the blood flow of the penile cavernous artery and shortening the examination time, and therefore deserves a wide application in the diagnosis of vascular ED.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the operative method and skill for female frontotemporal hairline reconstruction.Methods From October 2010 to October 2016,120 female patients were performed with the hairline reconstruction.The follicular units were arranged irregularly,40-55 FUs/ cm2,with 30°-45° angle from the forehead skin and 15°-20° angle from the temporal skin.The finest hairs were selected and arranged in hairline margin.Results All the patients were followed up for 10-24 months.95 patients were very satisfied,25 patients were satisfied,and no patients were unsatisfied.9 patients complained low density in the middle of the hairline and they had another surgery to improve the density.3 patients's hairline was regular,and another graft was done to correct the unnatural appearance.6 patients's hairs of the hairline margin were thick,hut no further treatment was done.1 patient underwent hair transplantation again,because of the still high hairline.6 patients's transplanted hairs appeared curly,and the curly degree was decreased after 1-2 years.The density of the transplanted hair was (44.7±8.1) FU/cm2.The density of 9 cases who complained low density in the middle of the hairline,was (36.9 ± 3.1) FU/cm2.The hair diameter of the hairline edge was (57.5±13.5) μm.The hair diameter of 6 cases who felt the hair thick was (70.2±5.1) μm.The angle of hair and the frontal skin was (40.2±8.5)°,The angle of hair and the temporal skin was (18.2± 4.7)°.Conclusions In female frontotemporal hairline reconstruction,nature hairline is created by irregular arrangement of hairs,proper density and angle and exact arrangement of different diameter hairs.

Objective@#To investigate the morphology and structure of the perpendicular plate of ethmoid and measure its anatomical parameters among Chinese population. To discuss the safety range of harvesting perpendicular plate of ethmoid in rhinoplasty.@*Methods@#Sixty-four healthy Chinese were included in accordance with certain requirements and their paranasal sinus was examined using 64 slices computed tomography (CT). The three-dimensional (3D) structure of their perpendicular plate of ethmoid was reconstructed, and the area, length, height and thickness were measured by Mimics 17.0 software. Statistical analysis was completed by SPSS 22.0 software and was checked out by t-test.@*Results@#According to the result from 3D anatomical analysis, the length of the anterior border of perpendicular plate of ethmoid was (28.58±2.91) mm, the inferior border was (26.17±5.76) mm and the posterior border was (19.84±3.17) mm. The thickness of the anterior border three sections were (3.07±0.72) mm, (3.09±0.73) mm and (1.75±0.55) mm respectively. The thickness of the inferior border in three sections were (1.96±0.62) mm, (1.94±0.73) mm and (1.87±0.67) mm, respectively. The length of the middle and lower third of the perpendicular plate of ethmoid anterior border was (10.04±2.39) mm. As to the superior border, the length was (35.31±6.52) mm. The total area of the perpendicular plate of ethmoid was (1 057.85±184.38) mm2, the lower section area was (474.09±109.60) mm2, and the ratio of middle and lower third to the total area was 0.45±0.07.@*Conclusions@#The thickness of the lower 1/3 segment of the vertical plate of the ethmoid bone is thinner than that of the upper segment, and it is far away from the skull base, which is easily to harvest and meet the application in surgery.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effect of downregulation of SLP-2 gene expression on proliferation and apoptosis of brain glioma cells.Methods:The targeting siRNA sequence of SLP-2 transfected U251 human glioma cells,blank group (without any cell treatment)and negative control group (cell transfected nonsense siRNA sequence)were set,Western blot was used to detect the expression of SLP-2,Bcl-2,Bax,Notch1,Hes1 protein after transfected 48 h;cell proliferation was detected by CCKg;cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry.Results:The protein expression of SLP-2 in negative control group had no significant difference with the control group (P>0.05),and the expression of SLP-2 protein in SLP-2 knock down group was significantly lower than control group (P<0.05);cell survival rate,apoptosis rate,mRNA expression of IL-6,TNF-α and Bcl-2,Bax,Notch1,Hes1 protein expression in the negative control group and the blank group had no significant difference (P>0.05),cell survival rate,mRNA expression of IL-6 and TNF-α and the expression of Bcl-2,Notch1,Hes1 protein in SLP-2 knock down group was significantly lower than control group,the apoptosis rate and the expression of Bax protein was significantly higher than control group (P>0.05).Conclusion:Downregulation of SLP-2 gene expression can significantly inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis of glioma cells,down regulate the expression of inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α,and the mechanism is related to the inhibition of Notch1 signaling pathway.

ABSTRACT

AIM:To assess the changes in higher order aberrations after wavefront guided femtosecond laser assisted laser in situ keratomileusis ( FS-LASIK ) for moderate to high astigmatism.?METHODS: Eighty-eight eyes of 50 myopia patients with moderate to high astigmatism were included in this prospective study. There were 51 eyes with moderate astigmatism (≥-1. 50D and <-3. 00D) and 37 eyes with high astigmatism (≥-3. 00D). All patients underwent wavefront guided FS-LASIK. Uncorrected distance visual acuity ( UDVA ) , corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), keratometry, central corneal thickness ( CCT)and higher order aberrations ( HOAs ) were evaluated before operation and 3mo postoperatively.?RESULTS:At the 3mo after operation, the mean UDVA of all eyes was above 20/20, better than before operation (P<0. 05), but CDVA remained unchanged (P=0. 36) and no eyes lost ≥2 lines of CDVA. Mean astigmstism of 85 eyes ( 97%) was reduced below - 1. 00D, mean astigmatism of 70 eyes ( 80%) was reduced below-0.50D(P<0. 05). The average corneal curvature was flatter by 3. 81 ± 1. 97D and CCT was reduced by 78. 66 ± 37. 22μm, postoperatively (P<0. 05). Coma and trefoil aberrations remained unchanged(P=0. 078, 0. 065). The spherical aberration, secondary astigmatism and the HOA root mean square ( RMS ) increased from 0. 19 ± 0. 06, 0.05±0. 02 and 0. 42±0. 12, preoperatively to 0. 32± 0. 17, 0. 26 ± 0. 08 and 0. 78 ± 0. 28 ( P < 0. 05 ), postoperatively.?CONCLUSION: Wavefront-guided FS-LASIK is a safe and effective option for the patients with moderate to high astigmstism although parts of HOAs increased.

Objective To understand the status quo of health resource allocation of medical institutions in poverty-stricken areas, and to provide decision-making basis for rationalizing health and poverty alleviation policies and improving the overall service capacity of medical institutions in poverty-stricken areas. Me thods The overall institutions, bed capacity and staffs in medical institutions in 680 poor counties were analyzed. Re s ults The proportion of government health expenditure in 14 concentrated areas was lower than 15%. The largest number of health institutions was 349 in the Dabie Mountains and 70 in Tibet, and the number of beds was lower than the national average level of 5.11.The largest number of health technical staff for 1 000 people of the four provinces is 4.42 people, the smallest number is 2.72 in Wumeng mountain area;the registered nurses (number) for 1 000 people is up to 1.56 people in the Luo Xia mountain area, the lowest Tibet, only 0.39 people. Thousands of population practice (assistant) physician number of Tibetans is up to 2.98 people, the lowest is 1.07 for the Xinjiang Southern Xinjiang three states; health care than the lowest in Tibet 1:0.54. Conclus ion At present, China's centralized contiguous poverty-stricken areas of county-level medical institutions is extremely short of resources, and the health resource allocation is uneven.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the new metheds of recreating pretarsal fullness of the lower eyelid using autologous dermis or acellullar dermis.Methods Between September 2010 and November 2013,total 16 patients underwent the procedures of recreating of pretarsal fullness of the lower eyelid using dermis materials.A stab skin incision of approximately 4-5 mm was made at the lateral canthus and inner canthus along the subciliary crease of the lower eyelid respectively,and then the skin was undermined to create a subcutaneous tunnel between two stab incisions.The dermis roll was introduced into the undermined subcutaneous plane of the lower eyelid.The end of dermis was sutured to orbicularis oculi muscle to maintain the appropriate tension.Results 11 cases of them used autologous dermis,5 of used acellullar dermis.The patients were followed up for 3-24 months.Lower-eyelid pretarsal fullness regained abvious and natural appearance,and the patients were highly satisfied.Complications included slight sclera show,partial absorption of dermis material and slight irregular apperence.One case of dermis infection occured and dermis roll had to be removed.Conclusions Autologous dermis or acellullar dermis grafting are simple,efficient techniques for recreating of pretarsal fullness of the lower eyelid.

ABSTRACT

At present, taxol is an internationally acknowledged drug with a unique anticancer activity in the world and mainly come from Taxus plants, these plants have 12 species, all of which have been listed as endangered tree species and protected by the countries concerned. But available wild Taxus plants resources are rather rare, so it is very urgent to strengthen introduction and cultivation of Taxus plants to meet people's demand for taxol. According to the ecological similarity of growth of Taxus plants predict suitable areas in the whole world, which could put forward rational suggestions for introduction and planning production layout of plants. A geographic information system for global medicinal plants(GMPGIS)was developed by Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences independently, and using GMPGIS analyzed in detail the potential ecological suitable areas of Taxus plants. Ecological range of Taxus wallichiana var. chinensis, Taxus wallichiana var. mairei, Taxus baccata, Taxus brevifolia and Taxus wallichiana covered a wide field, and had larger suitable area in the northern and southern hemispheres; Taxus cuspidate mainly distributed in the northern hemisphere, and only scattered in the southern hemisphere; Taxus canadensis, Taxus floridana and Taxus cuspidata var. nana only distributed in the northern hemisphere, and the latter two prediction areas are relatively less areas; Taxus fauna, Taxus globosa and Taxus sumatrana grew up in relatively strict environment, belong to the niche species, scattered distribution and the distribution of the areas are rare. This research would exert an important promoting effect on the cultivation of Taxus plants and the escalation of abundance to guarantee the sufficient supply of raw materials for taxol production. Finally, this paper summarized the research on the ecological quality and resource conservation of Taxus plants, to provide the reference for scientific introduction and cultivation of Taxus plants.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical indication and operative methods for different upper eyelid aging through perieyebrow incision.Methods We collected totally one hundred fifty-two cases in this study,including six males and 146 females,and aged from 26 to 80 years (average 47).There were 29 cases with only ptosis of upper eyelid,and the rest 123 cases were ptosis of upper eyelid with ptosis of eyebrow,sunken upper eyelid,bloated upper eyelid,or over-wide between eyebrow and eye region (compensatory eyebrow elevation).Through the incision of upper or lower margin of eyebrow,we treated these five types of upper eyelid aging by excision of redundant skin,orbicularis oculi muscle,frontal muscle,ROOF,or orbital fat,or ROOF elevation for upper eyelid rejuvenation.Results Patients were followed up for 3 to 120 months,with average 14.4 months.All ptosis of upper eyelid and over-wide between eyebrow and eye region patients were improved obviously.In 36 ptosis of upper eyelid with ptosis of eyebrow,seven of them treated with upper eyebrow margin incision got the best results;and the rest 29 patients treated with lower eyebrow margin incision,fifteen patients were lifted slightly,and the rest fourteen patients got no improvement.All scars of inferior eyebrow margin incision were invisible.Faded and applanate one millimeter wide scars were seen on two patients with superior eyebrow margin incision.In all patients with ptosis of upper eyelid,80% patients with sunken upper eyelid were improved obviously,and 85 % with bloated upper eyelid were improved significantly.Conclusions Upper eyelid aging is divided into five categories.Upper eyelid aging could be corrected by perieyebrow approach.Our methods are simple,safe,fewer complications,and with short convalescence,which is the minimally invasive procedure recommended for Chinese patients with upper eyelid aging.

To establish a robust method for the determination of mycotoxins in tea samples, and to provide means for the quality and safety control of tea products. Samples of 20 tea products acquired from international market were extracted by organic solvents (acetonitrile containing 0.1% formic acid) or hot water, respectively. The extracts were analyzed by UPLC-MS/MS.A good linear regression was achieved in a range of 39.1 to 5 000 ng•L⁻¹ for aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and aflatoxin G1 (AFG1), 117 to 15 000 ng•L⁻¹ for aflatoxin B2 (AFB2) and aflatoxin G2 (AFG2), 2.44 to 313 ng•L⁻¹ for fumonisin B1 (FB1), fumonisinB2 (FB2) and fumonisin B3 (FB3), and 3 125 to 5 000 ng•L⁻¹ for deoxynivalenol, with recovery rates between 85.7% and 99.6%. The coefficient of the linear equation for all standards was greater than 0.999 0, and the RSD value was less than 10%. Mycotoxins were detected in several tea samples using the two extraction methods but with different outcomes. The levels of mycotoxins detected ranging from 0.15 to 7.31 μg•kg⁻¹ were well below the State or US FDA regulation limits of mycotoxins in food products. Both methods are simple, accurate, and sensitive, and thus, suitable for the quantitative determination of mycotoxins in different food products. The method with the 80 ℃ hot-water extraction is more appropriate to determine the trace amounts of mycotoxins in tea leaves that are likely to be present in brewed tea liquor, while organic solvent method is more suitable for the detection of mycotoxins in ingestible foods.

ABSTRACT

The study aims at providing a new suitable way to promote artificial cultivation, solving the problem of resources increasingly endangered wild medicine, and protecting the wild resources of Tibetan medicine. The content of quercetin,kaempferol and isorhamnetin was determined by HPLC. The correlation between flavonoids components and ecological factors was analyzed using partial least-squares regression (PLSR). Based on Maxent model combining using ArcGIS software, suitable regionalization for H.rhamnoides subsp. sinensis was studied.The results showed that the difference of quercetin,kaempferol and isorhamnetin content in samples from different regions were obvious. The main factors effecting quercetin content accumulation were the altitude andthe average monthly precipitation in January and August. The main factors effecting kaempferol accumulation were the altitude andthe average monthly precipitation in the coldest quarter and December. The main factors effecting isorhamnetin accumulation were the average monthly precipitation in August, January and the coldest quarter.The regional distribution suitability index for H.rhamnoides subsp. sinensis was 0-0.708. The suitable area 590 500 km², accounting for 6.13% of the total area. The preferably suitable area was 552 500 km², accounting for 5.73% of the total area.The methods used in the study is simple and feasible, the result is reliable which provide a new approach for Tibetan medicine resources sustainable exploitation and utilization.

ABSTRACT

In order to study the ecology suitability of Pterocephalus hookeri, and provide a reference for GAP planting location and regional development, the Maxent model and GIS technology were used to investigate ecology suitability regions for P. hookeri based on the distribution points collected from Chinese virtual herbarium, the references and field trips. The potential distribution areas mainly concentrated in the eastern Tibet, western Sichuan, southern Qinghai, northwest Yunnan, and southern Gansu. There were 7 major environmental factors to have obvious influence on ecology suitability distributions of P. hookeri, including altitude (contribution rate of 62%), precipitation of warmest quarter (contribution rate of 14.4%), coefficient of variation of precipitation seasonality (contribution rate of 7.2%), mean temperature of driest quarter (contribution rate of 3.5%), the electrical conductivity of top and sub-soil (contribution rate of 3%), the total exchangeable bases in the top- and subsoil (contribution rate of 2.4%) and SD of temperature seasonality (contribution rate of 2.2%). The study of the ecological suitability regionalization of P. hookeri based on Maxent model can provide scientific basis for the selection of artificial planting base and GAP planting location.

ABSTRACT

The ecology suitability and ecological characteristics of Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F. H. Chen were studied to provide a reference for its artificial introduction and cultivation. The maximum entropy model (MaxEnt) and geographic information system (GIS) were used to investigate the global ecology suitability regions for Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F. H. Chen based on its 67 distribution points collected from global biodiversity information facility (GBIF), Chinese virtual herbarium (CVH) and the related references. The results showed that the possible ecological suitable regions of Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F. H. Chen were located in Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Guizhou, Hainan, Sichuan, Fujian and Chongqing provinces. The areas with ecological similarity higher than 60% were about 89 571.3 square kilometers in total, mainly distributing in Yu nnan and Guangxi provinces and small portion was located in Guangdong and Guizhou provinces. The areas with ecological similarity between 40% and 60% were about 155 172 square kilometers, mainly in Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Guizhou, Hainan, Sichuan provinces. ABSTRACT

The present study carried out a phytochemical investigation on the root barks of Dictamnus dasycarpus Turcz, leading to the isolation and characterization of two new aromatic ring butyrolactone derivatives, dasycarpusphenol acid A (1) and dasycarpusphenol acid B (2). Their structures were elucidated by using spectroscopic techniques and HR-FAB-MS. Compounds 1 and 2 exhibited antioxidant activity, with their IC values being 28.95 and 41.76 mg·mL, respectively.
